MAHAMA APPOINTS A NEW IGP

President John Dramani Mahama has dismissed Dr. George Akuffo Dampare from his position as Inspector-General of Police (IGP) and appointed his deputy, Commissioner of Police (COP) Christian Tetteh Yohunu, as his successor.
The announcement was made in a press statement from the presidency on Thursday, March 13, signed by the Minister for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu.
According to the statement, President Mahama made the appointment in line with Articles 91 and 202 of the 1992 Constitution, following consultation with the Council of State.
