Inter Miami Signs Lius Suarez. Lionel Messi may finally reunite with his friend

Lionel Messi will soon be joined by his good friend and one part of the iconic MSN trio Luis Suarez who was signed by Inter Miami on Friday.

Suarez and Messi were part of Barcelona’s devastating attacking trio which also included Neymar, who helped the Catalan giants win the historic treble in the 2014-15 season.

“We are delighted to have a player of Luis’ quality and passion for the game join our Club. He joins a squad that is inspiring the next generation and we look forward to seeing him take to the field with both former teammates and young players from our Academy,” said Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham.

Suarez, who was a five-time La Liga champions with Messi, is signed to a contract running through the 2024 Major League Soccer (MLS) season. The Uruguayan striker was named as the best player and best striker in the Brazilian league thanks to his 26 goals and 17 assists over 53 appearances for Gremio. “I’m very happy and excited to take on this new challenge with Inter Miami. I can’t wait to get started, and I’m ready to work to make the dream of winning more titles with this great Club a reality. I’m optimistic about what we can achieve together with our shared ambition. I will give my all to bring joy to these great fans I’ve heard so much about while I wear Inter Miami colors, and look forward to reuniting with great friends and players. I’m also eager to meet my new teammates and coaches,” Suarez said. Alongside Messi, Suárez will also be reunited with other former Barcelona teammates Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba at Inter Miami with whom he won four La Liga titles in five seasons as well as a UEFA Champions League title.

Suarez had joined Barca in 2014 and played there till 2020 where he scored an impressive total of 195 goals and added 113 assists over 283 matches. Before that, he was with Premier League club Liverpool where in 133 appearances he scored 82 goals and provided 46 assists.
