Amaarae, born Ama Serwah Genfi on July 4, 1994, in the Bronx, New York, is a Ghanaian-American singer, songwriter, producer, and engineer. Raised between Accra, Ghana, and the United States, she draws from a rich tapestry of cultural influences, blending elements of Afropop, alté, R&B, and electronic music into a distinctive sound that challenges genre boundaries. 🎶 Musical Evolution

Amaarae was involved in a public dispute with fellow Ghanaian artist Moliy regarding their collaboration on the song "Sad Girlz Luv Money." Amaarae accused Moliy's team of attempting to sabotage the promotion of the record, alleging that Moliy did not actively promote the song until it gained popularity on TikTok. Amaarae clarified that Moliy had a larger publishing split on the original track and an equal split on the remix, ensuring she received her fair share of royalties.  The Timeline
